You should have an empty bobbin, spool of thread, and a printout or manual, so you can follow along. First, you will need to put your thread on the spool holder. Second, put it around the first hook. Third, around the bobbin tension, making sure it's between the two metal discs. Forth, you will want to put your thread through one of the holes on the bobbin, from the center out, so it will wind onto the bobbin. Fifth, you will then want to put the bobbin on the winder. Sixth, press the winder wheel down to the belt. Seventh, loosen the wheel to keep the needle from going up and down. This will prevent wear and tear on your sewing machine. Eighth, hold on to your thread. Ninth, you will want to press the pedal and hold it down until the bobbin is almost full. While doing this, if your belt squeaks, as it can on older models, there is a trick in order to stop it. Sometimes the belt can slip which will make winding your bobbin difficult. You may need to add additional weight to your belt by using your scissors or finger to press it down. When you are winding your bobbin, pay attention to your thread, making sure it does not get caught on the shank. Also, the spool of thread may jump up and down and fly off the sewing machine.
